About Me:

Hello all! My name is Michael Ludwig. I am very excited to begin our next adventure here in Acres Green Elementary. I’m going to tell you a little about myself before I get to my educational background and teaching history. I was born in Chicago, Il. but grew up here in Colorado. My parents and my siblings moved to our wonderful state when I was three years old. I met my amazing wife Callie here at Acres Green and together we have a young daughter (Adelaide) who was born before the 2017 school year. I have two sisters who live here in Colorado, my brother lives back in Illinois, and my parents and my youngest sister live in Florida. I am an avid sports fan and love the Denver Broncos. I enjoy writing, reading, listening to music and any activity that keeps me outside enjoying this amazing state we live in.
Now for my educational background: I attended school in Adams 12 throughout my early education. In Adams 12 I Attended Daniel B. Stukey Elementary, Northeast Middle School, and Horizon High School. I then went to Metropolitan State College of Denver, where I majored in History with a Minor in Elementary Education, graduating in 2006.
Throughout my career I have been fortunate to work with many amazing educators. I began teaching fourth grade in Englewood Public Schools during the 2006-2007 school year. I taught fourth and fifth grade while in Englewood. I was then lucky enough to work in Cherry Creek Public Schools beginning in the 2009-2010 school year. I remained in Cherry Creek for two years teaching fourth grade.
Again fortune has smiled on me! After teaching sixth grade for two years at Acres Green, I am now in my eighth year of fourth grade here at our wonderful school. I am looking forward to sharing many exciting adventures with our students this year at Acres Green!

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records at this link ( Douglas County School District Transcripts and Records Requests ).
