Hi, I’m Carli DeBaere, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Acres Green community as a Literacy Specialist! I’ve spent the past 20 years teaching in Douglas County, working with both primary grades and as a Reading and Math Interventionist. Supporting students in building strong literacy skills is a passion of mine, and I’m excited to partner with you on your child’s reading journey. Outside the classroom, I love traveling and exploring new places with my husband.

Greetings Acres Green Elementary (AGE)!

My name is Tricia Ratts, and I'm grateful to serve as your Elementary K-6 RTI Specialist for Acres Green's final school year. In this new role, I have the honor of working alongside our teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure all students reach their potential as learners. This includes teaching small groups in math and reading, and helping to prepare student data for the upcoming merge with Fox Creek.

I bring almost 20 years of experience to the AGE community, having worked across most areas of education: public, private, and charter schools, as well as homeschooling our own two children.

When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my husband of 20 years, our son (a high school junior), our daughter (a college freshman), and our two mini schnauzer puppies, Cora and Cooper. We enjoy a good outdoor adventure, like jeeping, geocaching, fishing, and exploring. Reading, music, thrifting, local coffee shops, meeting new people (everyone has a story!), and gardening also fill my cup.

Please reach out with any questions you may have about the RtI process, what we do during our group time, or for an update on your child's progress. I look forward to working with you!

We are the literacy team at Acres Green, and we are lucky to read with our panther students!  Reading and writing is in addition to the regular literacy instruction a student receives in the classroom. Our lessons include a combination of reading, writing, phonics, phonemic awareness, and word study.  There is also an emphasis on problem solving and comprehension strategies in both fiction and nonfiction text. We provide everything students need to know in order to succeed with their literacy skills!
