All About Me

An interesting fact about me is that I have lived in five states. Living in five different states has been an adventure - building friendships, exploring, and creating memories. I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. Growing up, my three sisters and I enjoyed the beach, Broadway plays, city sights, and historical landmarks. For college, I ventured to Wisconsin to attend Carthage College, where I received a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. I met my husband at college, and we began our life together in Illinois, where my husband grew up. We eventually settled in Oswego, Illinois, where we raised three children, Kyle, Jordan, and Taylor. My husband's career led us to Lincoln, Nebraska, where Jordan and Taylor graduated from high school. Six years ago, we moved to Colorado. It had been a long term goal for us to move here, as all of my sisters live here as well as our sons.

As a family, we enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, visiting National Parks, and gardening. We visit Steamboat Springs often to enjoy the outdoors and visit Kyle and his wife, Kristen. Jordan and Taylor are both attending college. We have two dogs, Moka (a Border Collie) and Ginger (a Sheltie).

My passion lies in teaching. It is exciting to guide students' curiosity as they become lifelong learners. I have taught kindergarten, been a substitute teacher, preschool teacher, and RTI (Response to Intervention) educator. I am beginning my fifth year at Acres Green. This is my third year teaching kindergarten.
